About the project
The airport is the front gate of any city. And St. Petersburg is an important point on air routes. Therefore, it is necessary to make the airport visually recognizable and convenient for residents and guests of the city. The airport is inextricably linked with traffic. The concept of the architectural appearance of the terminal was based on prototypes of aircraft engines. The arrivals and departure zones smoothly flow into each other, but at the same time are visually highlighted. The streamlined shape and decoration of the building are associated with the aircraft industry. The large glass area not only fills the premises with daylight, but also gives the building lightness.
The layout of the departure and arrival terminals has a radial structure and is combined with the shape of the building. The layout matches the user's scale and is easy to navigate. The waiting rooms are the architectural centers of the terminals. Skylights on the roofs allow you to fill the space with natural light as much as possible.
