About the project
Akçaabat National Garden project area is parallel to Trabzon Samsun Highway, 1 km from Akcaabat city center and 11.5 km from Trabzon city center. The project area, which also includes the Akçaabat Fatih Stadium area, has been planned on a total area of ​​22,800 m2 with the concept of the Nation's Garden. Aiming to reflect Akçaabat's history, culture and flora together, it also aimed to design places where people of all ages can benefit and spend their free time with relaxing, peaceful and at the same time educational activities. Three circular road axes, which form the main setup of the design, are based on the names Platana, Pulathane and Akçaabat in the historical process of Akçaabat.
Platana means «sycamore tree» and is a very common species in the region. It has been the most preferred plant because it is one of the most protected tree species against the Black Sea wind coming from the Black Sea. The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Turkey is the ministry that works under the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and is responsible for environmental and urban planning. It was established by merging the Ministry of Public Works, which was established on 3 May 1920, and the Ministry of Construction and Settlement, which was established on 13 October 1923, under the name of the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement in 1983.
