All-around beautification at 2/3 Line of Vasilievsky Island

Best Project of Public Space by Student

About the project
The project provides for reconstruction and upgrade of the original concept offered by Peter the Great and Domenico Trezzini — opening of channels along the street lines of Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg.
The channel along 2/3 Line is presented symbolically and has two levels. The top one is a water tank with a transparent glass bottom. The lower level comprises public spaces that reecho the historical context. For instance, the underground bathing unit is a reference to the bathing pool in the Academic Garden.
Besides, plants are to be set for green beautification, and leisure sites are to be arranged.
