Arrowhead House

About the project
The prismatic triangular shape results from the contours of the site and from the view corridor easements protecting views towards downtown Austin. The house hovers on slender columns above the trees to maximize views while minimizing disturbance of the sensitive landscape. The driveway leads to the 90-degree corner anchoring the right triangle, which holds the glass garage showcasing the owner’s car collection. The master bedroom occupies the most acute corner of the triangle where it terminates with a private balcony overlooking the pool below. The suite shares the upper floor with the garage, while the rest of the program is suspended below. A spiral stair links the two levels, offering glimpses of the car collection and Austin skyline. A central kitchen serves as a hinge between the game room, dining, and living room. Outdoor terraces along the hypotenuse link the living spaces to the linear lap pool framing the view, punctuated by a spa at the very point of the arrowhead.
