Casa das Escotilhas

Project of Private Residence

About the project
The design of Casa das Escotilhas, located on a slope adjacent to a large local lake, was envisioned as a family vacation retreat. The contemporary architectural elements of the residence delicately integrate with the steep terrain. The interior spaces and materials draw inspiration from traditional Minas Gerais houses and are thoughtfully incorporated into the overall architectural composition. The house extends linearly along the landscape, with the bedroom area slightly elevated, creating a sense of elevation while maintaining a single-story layout. The social area, characterized by higher ceilings, is located on the lower level. The fusion of the kitchen, dining room, and living room creates a spacious and inviting space in the primary gathering area of the house. A central axis of linear and continuous circulation seamlessly connects all parts of the house. Large glass windows open up to the leisure area, providing unobstructed views of the surroundings.
