About the project

The events of the 17th century take place in a play written at the end of the 19th century and staged at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre in the 21st century. The audience sees a diagonal wall that cuts off the stage on the left, offering scope for imagination. Such asceticism is not accidental. The artist uses it to unload the stage as much as possible, giving scope to the dynamic mise-en-scènes and the musical improvisations. Everything that happens on stage easily fits into its living and a-changing space.
