About the project
This porcelain factory was once known all across Russia, and the author suggested not only bringing it back to life, but extending it with a museum and an education center.
Smooth shapes of the facades were inspired by grottos and boulders, as well as by soft clay that is formed by human hands. The museum visitors will follow this piece of clay that is transformed from a shapeless lump into a real work of art.
Today, the factory building is actually in ruins. Its boiler-house, bathhouse, and workers barracks have been lost. The author wants to restore the missing buildings in their original state, as well as to renovate the factory facades and dress them with glass inserts.
