About the project
The premiere of F. Wildhorn's musical «Peter I» took place on the stage of the St. Petersburg Musical Comedy Theater on December 2, 2022.
According to the authors' plan, the work of the great reformer is presented in the musical not as a historical chronicle, but as the legend of Peter, seen through the eyes of people of the 21st century.
The spectacular visual solution proposed by artist Vyacheslav Okunev includes stylized historical costumes of the characters, animated video sequences on LED screens, allowing you to instantly change the location of the action, and three-dimensional decorative elements. A special place in the artistic design of the performance is occupied by the pyrotechnic score, written for the battle scenes and being an integral part of the image of the production.
