About the project
The project was designed under a competition announced by BookMark.
The main inspiration was to give attention to the Catalans, their spirits and nature. The image of a birdhouse with its typical V-shaped roof was used as the design basis. The project suggests establishing an extensive green zone with a natural amphitheater, and the building is located around the existing tree without damaging it. Sustainable and eco-friendly materials like wood and concrete are to be used.
Besides the educational purpose, the library has places for workshops, socializing and knowledge sharing, as well as a cafe.
