About the project
This project is about 'edge'. The site is located at the edge of a main axis which divides central Tel Aviv in half from the west to the east with a river to the north. By looking at the environmental values, we have explored how to mark this special point as the point where the city meets the river. By listening to the environment, to its urban and built fabric, its movement, and to the sway of the water, it becomes a language that creates the project. The project consists of two built elements- a commercial building and a residential tower with an internal piazza connecting them. Most of the building's body is encased in light reflective screen walls to reflect its surrounding environment. This breaks up the light by mimicking the reflection and refraction of light across the Hayarkon River, producing a kinetic sculpture that varies according to its surroundings.
