Islamic cultural center
Best Architectural Project by a Student
About the project
A mosque is a sacred place for every Muslim, a place of peace, worship and humbleness, but sometimes people forget about that. The author intended to create a place for praying where water as a symbol of purity and the source of life will be used to suppress noise and some of the sunlight, thus making sure people in prayer wouldn’t get distracted. Traditionally, a mosque is an independent domed building, and pure water of the fountain in front of the mosque symbolizes its dome. The mosque directly looks Kaaba in Mecca, and this is one of the main landscaping solutions. The top floor of the prayer tower houses a sight-seeing platform, offering a panorama of the city and the Caspian Sea.
