About the project
February 28 is the day to celebrate Kalevala Day, the festival of Karelo-Finnish epic poetry.
The Fine Arts Museum of the Republic of Karelia opened Kalevala Universe exhibition – it covers 5 venues of 150 meters large, and there are 150 paintings, arts, and crafts showcased there, plus 5 modern installations dedicated to fairy-tale plots, including The Rune Forest, The Birth of Kalevala Universe, The Sampo Mill Roof, The Magic Ball – these were included into the museum’s collection as contemporary art.
