Project
Kayaking village

Category
Best Design of Public Space by Student

About the project
Tourists coming to the village can have their first trial run of kayaking or just exercise in the pool or gym. They can also visit the cinema/assembly hall or have a cup of tea at a cafe overlooking the river. Those keen on art can make their own kayak in a workshop and then exhibit it at the annual competition in a “glass cube” located right above the public centre. This multipurpose complex is carved into the rock at a depth of more than 9 meters. It connects several functional areas through a network of underground corridors.
The village uses innovative technologies, such as greenhouses covered with ETFE film, bioconcrete, and a geothermal heat pump.
