Lachute Train Station

About the project
Considering the historical importance of rail transport in the world and specifically in this region of Canada, the existing left station, which is one of the most important stations in the history of Canada, has always had a special value and we tried to preserve this building.
In this regard, two general decisions were made:

  • Preservation of the existing building as a museum. The fabric of the region is such that at least communication between people happens there, and somehow the current space of the region is a dead space devoid of people's interaction.
  • Adding new buildings respecting the place of the old building and improving social relations between people, such as holding festivals and events, in addition to the fact that space is a space for transportation.

The transparency polycarbonate panels, lightness, using Brick material to preserve the historicity of the space, and familiarity of the design of the new buildings with the old building is an expression of this respect.

Applicant
Nikki Hadad Razavi, final year Bachelor of Architecture student, Art university of Tabriz.: «I am very interested in creating and graphic works in the field of architecture and producing architectural diagrams, painting and music are among my great interests in my spare time. From my point of view, architecture is much more than the design of a building, and I always tried to make the spirit and identity in my designs the most important design criteria.»
