About the project
Lepakshi (Rising Bird) is culturally and archaeologically significant as it is the location of shrines dedicated to Supreme deity in India. Believed by many, the mythological subscripts of the demi-god Jatayu, who was half eagle and half human, creates an incentive based on the rising bird demi-god Jatayu.
The canopy form reflects the image of the wings of fallen eagle standing his ground after taking a fall and followed up by the arched columns poised considering the exo-skeleton of an Bird.
