Project
Levashovo Airport

Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project
All the premises, functional zones, and units of the airport capable of 600 passengers an hour, had to be interconnected.

The author considered all the passenger flows and the boarding patterns to design the functional zones of the facility.

The architectural look was inspired by flying and aircrafts. Smooth lines, stained glass windows that make one think of illuminators, columns that resemble undercarriage legs — all of those became the distinctive elements of the design.

The panoramic windows let enough sunlight into the longspan waiting and service areas, but they also let the passengers observe the airplanes from the moment they walk in through the airport doors.
