Project
Sightseeing pavilion at Kuriles

Nomination
Best Project of Public Building or Facility

About the project
A sightseeing platform with a pavilion at the Isle of Onekotan is a multi-level amphitheater from where tourists can enjoy the view of the Krenitsyn Volcano, the main highlight of the Isle. The amphitheater is topped with a two-storey pavilion of a regular shape, partially clad with polished steel, mirroring the mood and varying spirits of the local nature. These mirror-like walls work as a perfect camouflage, melting the facility within the landscape.
