About the project
The new building will become a part of the museum complex located at the Salt Warehouse dating back to the late 18th century. It is one of the most remarkable listed possessions of Tarusa. The new facility looks like an unfinished wooden bridge, which is a reference to the history of the city. There has always been a crossing at the Oka River, but no permanent bridge has been built. Facades feature traditional Tarusan embroidery made of wooden planks.
The exposition will present a research of the city’s identity — six exhibition rooms, connected with a general narrative. Moving from the 1st floor to the top, the visitors will finally find themselves at the roof and enjoy the vista over the city and the river.
