About the project
Lapangan Medan Merdeka is a landmark of Indonesia that experienced irrelevancy in recent years. Praetervehor aims to reestablish the relevance of Lapangan Medan Merdeka and Monas. Such purpose is achieved by revitalizing its connectivity through the permeability approach. The concept is implemented through JPO/crossing bridge/elevated pedestrian, active frontage and bike lane around the Lapangan Medan Merdeka. These elements serve connectivity in two different areas; Medan Merdeka Barat and Medan Merdeka Timur. Each of them contains modules that respond specifically to the characteristic and needs of each area, affected by the connected surroundings. It is expected such modules would create an active permeability through needs and experience.

Applicant and author of the project
Guntur Danurain Akbar, student at the Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, architecture enthusiast that aims to design solutions in the architectural scope. "All of my designs derived from a contextual approach, before adding any other additional approach towards it, making the design unique to each site. I am eager to learn and evolve to further improve the design solutions I will make along the way".

Conceptual design
