Project
Republican children’s library in Tashkent: renovation

Category
Best Design Project for Library

About the project
The library building was established in 1893 and has been listed as a cultural heritage site. Regardless of all the changes that happened to it during its long history, it has original architectural elements and a great historic value. Alas, it can no longer comprehensively operate.
The authors wanted to save all the original elements and at the same time establish a system that would work properly. The premises will be readjusted for the contemporary requirements, forming an accessible and inclusive environment along with new educational opportunities. The new version of the library will encompass co-workings, digital studios, and a transformable hall for lectures and work-shops. The outer premises will be beautified with the old trees kept alive.
