Serbian and Russian Anguishes Memento in Jasenovac Monastery

Category

Best Implemented Façade or Interior Project Using Ceramics

About the project

The memorial is installed where the most dreadful concentration camp was in the lands of ex Yugoslavia during World War 1.

It looks like a stela that represents a funeral candle, with ceramic icons depicting saint martyrs and the holidays associated with the resurrection. Topped with the angel holding a Byzantine cross, the stela features 150 most common Serbian feminine and masculine names.
