About the project
The memorial was opened on September 11, 2022. The sculpture standing on a pedestal framed by a round Doric order is located in the central square of the Bashkirian capital. It was there that the soldiers of the Bashkirian Cavalry Division marched before they went to the frontline in February 1942. The General is imaged ahorse during a mounted attack. The granite pedestal is covered with high relieves featuring heroic deeds by the Bashkirian Cavalry soldiers, the old Bashkirian warriors, and the General’s life.
