The Concrete House
Best Implemented Project of Private Residence
About the project
The Concrete House, located in the city of Nova Lima, is the result of an effort to create a beautiful and functional residential project from a simple and rational structure of exposed concrete. The house was designed as a concrete and glass box. The first floor is where services and leisure are located. On the second floor is where the house truly is! Access is via the stairs in the entrance hall, with double height ceilings, which is introduced by a portico over a large pivot door. Upstairs are the dining, living and bedrooms, the kitchen, office and an inner courtyard. Between the rooms, a beautiful central external patio, with a tree in the middle. On the same floor, a concrete plan separates the intimate part of the house, giving it privacy. From the front facade it is possible to see the mountains through the entire building. The visual permeability of the glass enclosures made it possible to share the privileged view of the house with the street.
