About the project
The ex house of Merchant Mashtakov is a remarkable wooden architecture memorial in Samara. For 25+ years it stood behind a solid fence, awaiting restoration.

In 2021, the All-Russian Society for Historical and Cultural Memorial Protection was entrusted with this task. The house was readjusted to become a venue for the Zavarka Gallery Museum.  Beautification of the surrounding grounds was arranged by the Town Hall.

Andrey Bode, the leading architect and renovator, provided academic advice.
