We congratulate Roman Kovrikov, a member of the International Council of the Golden Trezzini Awards, on his appointment as the General Director of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve!
From 2022, he temporarily performed the duties of the General Director of «Peterhof».
Roman Kovrikov began his career in 2000 at the Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshops, where he participated in the unique project of recreating the Amber Room of the Catherine Palace. Since 2010, he has been working in Peterhof, first heading the visitor reception and service department, and since 2014 — holding the position of Deputy Director for Cultural and Educational Work.
In September 2023, Roman Kovrikov provided invaluable support to the organization and holding of the special event «Architecture of Solitude. The Past and Present of Hermitages in Russia and Europe», dedicated to the completion of the restoration of the Hermitage Pavilion, built by order of Peter I in 1721. This is the first Hermitage in Russia, which was a place of solitude and entertainment for the emperor and his close ones. The organizers of the event are the organizing committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards, Worldwide St. Petersburg Club, and the Peterhof Museum-Reserve.
On November 15, 2023, the award ceremony of the VI International Golden Trezzini Awards took place in the Hermitage Theater. Roman Kovrikov received the main award — the statuette of Domenico Trezzini — in the category «Best Implemented Restoration Project» for the restoration of the Pavilion of the Katalnaya Hill in Oranienbaum. This unique 18th-century structure, built by architect Antonio Rinaldi, was destroyed during the World War II and recreated thanks to the efforts of the Peterhof restoration team.
In 2024, Roman Kovrikov will continue the mission to preserve and popularize the Peterhof ensemble, one of the most beautiful and historical places in the world. This year, visitors to the museum-reserve will be able to enjoy the view of the Upper Garden, which has undergone large-scale restoration for the first time in fifty years. This is one of the oldest parts of Peterhof, created in the early 18th century by the project of Peter I.
