On Thursday, February 15, 2024, the TASS representative office in St. Petersburg held a press conference to announce the opening of the application period for the 7th edition of the International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design. The awards are organized by the Worldwide Club of St. Petersburg, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the cultural and historical heritage of St. Petersburg.

The purpose of the award is to identify and recognize the most artistically valuable projects in the field of architecture and design. The works of the laureates will be added annually to the collection of the State Historical Museum of St. Petersburg and will be included in the exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress.

“This is an amazing, wonderful idea to honor outstanding projects, which will then become part of the State Museum Fund. The fact that we have invented a universal language of intellectual and artistic communication with the whole world is evidenced by the huge number of participants, which I am sure will be no less this year,” said Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Worldwide Club of St. Petersburg and General Director of the State Hermitage Museum.

“The awards are open to nominees from any country. Participation is free. The application period runs from February 15 to September 15, 2024,” said Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. "Participants are offered 18 main and 4 special categories. The Golden Trezzini Awards are prestigious international awards for architecture and design, established in 2018. The main prize is a gilded figurine of Domenico Trezzini. The motto of the awards is «Architecture as Art».

According to the statistics provided by the organizers, over the years of the Golden Trezzini’s existence, more than 4.2 thousand applications from 112 countries have been submitted for the award, and among the laureates are projects from 24 countries. Last year there were about 1.2 thousand applications from more than 70 countries. As Pavel Chernyakov noted, among the 2024 applications received by the Organizing Committee in the first hours since the start of its reception are projects from Indonesia, Iran, Mexico and Russia.
