“Architecture as Art. Winners of the 2nd Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design” — the exhibition is taking place in the Arts and Music Center of the Mayakovsky Central Public Library on Nevsky Prospect.
On April 27, 2021, the Architecture as Art Exhibition opened in the Arts and Music Center of the Mayakovsky Central Public Library. This is the second presentation of the winning projects from the 2nd Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design which were originally showcased in the Peter and Paul Fortress in September 2020. Many people decided not to attend the exhibition because of the worsening epidemiological situation at that time, and so the Golden Trezzini Arrangements Committee offered St. Petersburgers a second chance to see the winning projects of 2019.
“Today, we repeat the exhibition that was held last year, between two waves of the pandemic. And this is not just a second case of the exhibition — it is a chance to see through different eyes the architectural and design project made BEFORE the coronavirus era. Let’s see them once again to realize what is transient, and what is everlasting,” says Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Arrangements Committee for the Golden Trezzini Awards.
Zoya Chalova, Director of the Mayakovsky Central Public Library; Natalya Sidorkevich, Chairman of the Board of the World Club of Petersburgers; Pascal Sliwanski, Director of the French Institute in St. Petersburg; and Irina Semenova, Director of the Leningrad Regional Universal Academic Library greeted visitors at the opening of the exhibition. The list of honored guests included Hansjörg Meier, Consul General of Switzerland in St.Petersburg and Vincent Campredon, Director of the Musée National de la Marine (Paris).
The opening ceremony was closed by a performance by Oscar Storm — composer, pianist, and artist.
The exhibition is open through May 18, 2021.
