About the project
The united pedestrian axis ensures visibility of all the pieces within the facility, and also provides enough walkways to approach every of the five buildings. Semiabstract domes are used in the project as a reference to different prototypes – this solution was inspired by the historical development of the Starocherkassky Settlement.
In terms of planning, the basic reference was about the Roman baths - thermae, whereas the heating system is hypocaust, the technology that uses an open space below the floor heated by gases from a fire or furnace below, from where hot air rises to heat the room above.
