About the project (provided by the applicant) In January 2024, Leningrad celebrated the 80th Anniversary of lifting the Siege. To celebrate with the city, the Baltic House Festival Theater made a collaboration with the Hermitage and created a performance based on the evidence provided by citizens of the city under the Siege. The Hermitage workers worked in Leningrad to save their exhibits and moved some of them to Sverdlovsk, took care of children in the orphanage of the Hermitage, visited wounded people, and made lectures about art. Living Pictures from the Siege is not just chronicles of their essential mission but also the story about those people who made their best to save the Hermitage for us.
