About the project
The design for the Museum and Architecture Center should naturally be about understanding Sinan's design and construction approaches in architecture. First of all, there is a need for an objective point of view that Sinan was an architect who lived in the 16th century and that his building styles belong to that century within the framework of the characteristics of the period. Therefore, in order to understand Sinan, it is necessary to go beyond the master's structures and examine basic/universal design ideas.
The project was started with the idea that «understanding Mimar Sinan in the proposed design not only reflects the works exhibited, but also reflects Sinan's design philosophy for every decision taken in the name of design». Features such as scale, centrality, simplicity, volumetric space and ratio-proportion, which are clearly seen in Sinan's works, were the initial/basic decisions of the project in the mass-design phase.
