About the project The most ambitious reconstruction of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin in the last 50 years with the area of works within some 18 hectares. The project comprised repair, renovation and landscaping procedures, as well as emergency and landslide prevention works.
10 of 13 towers were renovated, the ruined manege with the Nicholas Church were restored along with the bell-tower of the Transfiguration of the Saviour Cathedral and the Simeon Stylit Temple. A 2 km circular route inside the fortress wall built in the 16th century was restored.
A children playground was arranged at the reconstructed fir-tree garden. Currently, they are working on restoration of the cable elevator that operated between the North and the Clock towers in the late 19th through the early 20th century.
