About the project The project is a mixed use development consists of restaurants, cafes, shops, entertainment venue, event hall and gym with a swimming pool. The aim is to create a social environment that represents a neighbourhood where children, adults and families are all interacting and connecting together. The design creates a journey for visitors that takes them from the main street into another experience inside the project. As this project is a real-life project, we worked with an actual client (the land’s owner). We had to be very creative as architecture students but very practical at the same time! Because clients and businessmen care about money, I maximized the exposure of all commercials on the main street for high rents. I have also added other features that would make more income for the client, such as ads screens. Last but not least, with the changes happening in the market because of the pandemic (COVID 19), I designed 80% of the restaurants with Drive-thru’s and private outdoors.
Applicant and author of the project Zainah Bagaber: "I am a senior passionate architecture student who is interested in designing unforgettable experiences and spaces. I care about creating better living spaces without harming our environment. I step out my comfort zone and experience different things to explore and learn. I won and got nominated for different local and international architecture competition, such as: Prince Abdul Majeed excellence award and the Flamingo Visitor Center Competition. I am placed on the President Honor List."
