About the project (provided by the applicant) Ancient China… A mystical land full of wonders. As often happens in fairy tales and in life, the supreme ruler believes that all wonders should belong only to him, including the magical lotus that fulfills wishes. But fate has its own plans — and the lotus falls into the hands of simple people: a janitor and a cleaning woman from the imperial palace. Drawn into a whirlwind of incredible adventures, the heroes discover that even terrifying rats can behave nobly, and dreadful toads may show compassion.
Scenographer, People’s Artist of Russia Maria Rybasova, embodied both the tender beauty of nature and the ornate décor of palaces and halls in the mobile stage sets — with dragons, of course, included.
