Tradition Revival (Khmelevka, Samara Region, Russia)

Project
Tradition Revival

Category
Best Project of Private Residence

About the project
Working on the project, the architects thought of a traditional Russian mansion of the late 18th century - a two-storey white house at a pond with an old park and shady alleys leading to a summer house or a grotto.
The house was designed on a complex natural terrain, with a vista of the precipitous descent to the lake. The rotunda stands over the water, and there is a small guest house down at the lake.
The facades of the mansion are decorated with Doric orders and typical Empire-style stucco. Total area of the house embracing a sitting room, a diner, a game room, and galleries to the bedrooms is 1,000 m2.
